I have never had a customer complain about a problem with fluffy carpet. If you are worried about the carpet holding too much water, I would go over each area a couple times with the sucking action. You can pull most of the moisture out of the carpet. I sent an email to Rug Doctor with your question. I will give you the update when they respond.

I’ve used and rented the Rug Doctor for years and have not had anyone complain about discoloring a carpet. If you are concerned, I would test in an inconspicuous area. Let me know how it works for you.

You can walk on the carpet immediately, but it is better to wait till it’s dry. It usually takes 2 to 4 hours depending on the air flow, temp. and humidity.
